When first hatched, these little buggers are pure ivory. As they mature they start to look more like a normal leopard tortoise, and then the magic happens. Once they start to mature, the growth in between all of their scutes comes in pure white, or Ivory in color. Once mature 85% of the shell is ivory! Ivory leopard tortoises are rare and therefore a bit more expensive of a tortoise to own.
These little ivory torts get around 9-14″ in overall size, most 9-12″ and can live 60-90 years! Very sweet natured and definitely not shy when cared for correctly, these fantastic little tortoises make fantastic additions to any tortoise family.
